There are financial recruitment incentives for positions that are considered Hard to Recruit.
Financial Incentives for Hard to Recruit Positions
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is committed to recruiting and retaining a qualified workforce. Recognizing that the Region must be competitive in attracting employees into classifications with severe/chronic shortages, the Region offers incentives for Hard to Recruit positions. Please see list below of positions currently designated as Hard- to-Recruit.
2016-2017 Hard to Recruit Positions
- Physical Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Speech Language Pathologist
- Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric Nurse – *Rural positions only*
- Nurse Practitioner – *Rural positions only*
- Medical Laboratory Technologist
- Medical Radiation Technologist
- Combined Lab & X-Ray Technician
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Dual Credentials
Financial Incentives Available include:
Students apply for a Student Bursary in their final 2 years of study in a “Hard to Recruit” program. The Student Bursary requires a Return in Service (RIS) commitment of 1-2 years of service working with the Prince Albert area in a designated Hard to Recruit position. The funding available for students to apply for are $2,500 for 1 Year RIS or $5,000 for a 2 year RIS.
If a candidate accepts a permanent full time or permanent part time “Hard to Recruit” position and have to relocate to take the position, they can apply for Relocation Assistance of up to $2,000 (in province) and $4,000 (out of province).
Human Resouurces will require the original receipts from the move in order to review the application.
Hard to Recruit Incentive Program:
If a candidate accepts a permanent full time or permanent part time “Hard to Recruit” position they can apply for the Hard to Recruit Incentive. The program is paid out in 3 increments totalling $5,000 over a three year period.
RN/RPN Incentive Program - Permanent Positions
If a candidate accepts a permanent full time or permanent part time RN or RPN position in a Rural location, they can apply for this incentive. The program is paid out in 3 increments totaling $10,000 over a three year period.
RN/RPN Incentive Program - Temporary Positions
If a candidate accepts a temporary full time or temporary part time RN or RPN position in a Rural location, they can apply for this incentive. The program will pay out $1,500 after the first 6 months of work with the possibility of continued funding every 6 months if the candidate remains working in temporary rural positions.
