The Volunteer Services Department of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region is in need of caring, compassionate and committed volunteers to fulfill the following service positions:
Patient Information (Greeter) – Victoria Hospital
Duties include directing patients and visitors to the various departments for treatments, tests, x-rays, or to other destinations in the hospital. Shifts: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday
Lab Services Center – Prince Albert
Volunteer greeters assist patients and family members arriving for tests at the center in the South Hill Mall. These volunteers put patients at ease and ensure they are in the proper location to be called for their tests. Shifts: 7 – 10 a.m. Monday – Friday: Once per week.
“On Call” Volunteers – All Long Term Care Facilities
Extra volunteers are often needed for the long term care residents on an “on-call” basis, to assist with outings, parties, social gatherings, shopping trips, taking residents to medical appointments, etc. Shifts: As needed
Patient Navigators – Day Surgery – Victoria Hospital
Patient Navigators improve the experience for surgical patients by ensuring they are in the right place at the right time. Shifts: 6:30 – 9:30 a.m.; 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
