The Volunteer Services Department of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region is in need of caring, compassionate and committed volunteers to fulfill the following service positions:
Patient Information (Greeter) – Victoria Hospital
Duties include directing patients and visitors to the various departments for treatments, tests, x-rays, or to other destinations in the hospital. Shifts: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday
Cuddling & Play Therapy, Pediatric Ward – Victoria Hospital
Duties include cuddling lonesome children, assisting with play activities, reading, playing games, assisting with snacks, feeding children, etc. Shifts: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. or 6 – 8 p.m. Monday to Sunday: once or twice per week.
Pet Therapy – All Long Term Care Facilities
Volunteers with well-trained, friendly pets may visit the residents at the Nursing Homes. The pets must meet the necessary requirements prior to visiting. Shifts: Once or twice per week: Flexible hours.
